Objective: Discuss and propose a framework for strategies to defineBrazilian environmental criteria for chemicals aiming the protection ofhuman health and the ecosystem.

Expected Results: Our objective is that thismeeting will launch a multi-agency project with a permanent working group topropose standardized protocols for the derivation of environmental criteriafor Latin America.

Around 40 Brazilian specialists from universities, government agencies andindustry were invited. The organizers will open the opportunity for theparticipation of 20 people. They will be selected based on CV and experiencein the field. The registration fee will be R$ 3000 for non SBMCTA member andR$ 2000 for SBMCTA members. Applications will be received by email with a CVattached until 15th of September of 2009. The applicants will be notified bySeptember, 30th of 2009.
